yo man You ever seen a 10-sided record? Some box set records had records numbered so that one was 1 and 10, 2 and 9, 3 and 8, 4 and 7, 5 and 6. You put them in the stack 1 on bottom 5 on top, and it would drop each one in order, then you flip it over and it stays in order. Grandparents had an RCA Victor record player that could do that that coud do four speeds: 16, 33, 45, and 78. Also had an AM/FM tuner. Somehow, by sorcery, the machine knew when the last record had dropped and would then aitomatically shut off at the end. I tried to trick it by pushing on the catch l, but it knew when there wasn't another record. The problem was it hummed loudly when turned on, got worse with age.
