Rust and smoke, the heater's broke, the door just blew away, I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray, the frame is bent, the muffler went, the radio it's okay, oh what fun it is to drive this rusty Chevrolet

Behold: Kris Pringle!
If you could travel back in time, as you are right now, what year would you go and what would you do?
yo man 1995 or 1990, various libraries. Reason: so many non-fiction books have disappeared. I want to take some notes on some things. I can't remember titles and authors after 30+ years, I though the books were always going to be there, like a historical record. I found a reddit thread explaining that if it's not popular, if it doesn't circulate, and it's older than 5 years, it's subject to removal. "We don't have the space or budget to maintain all those books" say libraries, but I look at the non-fiction section and it's barren. The fiction section is jammed back floor to ceiling, end to end. Every single Star Trek, Western, and Romance Porn ever written. That's what the people want, they don't want non-fiction. The university I attended in the '90s had books over 100 years old. It was also an open library. Today the police guard it, you can't just wander in off the street into a university library anymore like the old days. "PAPERS, PLEASE!" Then after I do my research I'd go camping because back you weren't bothered by authorities or nosy just for trying to get out into the wilderness areas. In recent years I've been tracked down just for trying to get out and get away from people for peace and quiet.
