"On Wednesday, January 13, 1982, a jet plane crashed into a bridge in Washington, D.C. Seventy nine passengers and crew were plunged into the frozen Potomac River. Faced with this overwhelming tragedy, ordinary human beings reacted heroically, risking their own lives in order to save others. This film is dedicated to that selfless part of the human spirit-- which exists in all of us."

Additionally, 4 motorists on the bridge were killed. From the flight, 5 survived. Bystanders Lenny Skutnik and Roger Olian dove into the icy waters in an attempt to rescue survivors before rescue crews and equipment could arrive.

yo man Not to diminish the tragedy, but this movie from 1984 is like the most '80s thing ever. Acting, clothing, hairstyles, furniture.

BTO - Shotgun Rider

And they had us all worked up about Y2K. It was Y2K+23 when technology came to screeching halt and the "experts" didn't even see it coming. Here, I got your solution for you: some big wig in an stuffy office somewhere says: "that's not supposed to happen" and that profound statement should fix it all.

The only thing I remember about the '80s is the opening credits to TV shows. I don't really remember much of any of the show, just the opening.

Barber Rabbit of Seville

If you haven't seen "The Fortune Cookie" (1966) I highly reccommend it. (How many 'c's in reccommend?) Anyway, you'll be humming the Barber of Seville forever after.

Some days you just gotta be carried into work

I'm pretty sure I've heard this version when on hold with multiple government agencies
