America has survived tough times before. I can't say we will for sure survive more because attitudes today are so defeatist. But, the local mobilization in Appalachia last week may be the event that turns America around and inspires everyone to put ourselves back on the right track. The 1970s was a drag in the mud. The 2020s need to get out of this similar quagmire. Canadian Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian, wrote and recorded an editorial about America's dire situation in 1973. Sounds eerily familiar to today. "If Americans get out this bind, who can blame them if they say 'TO HELL WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD!'?"
